Microblading: The Ultimate Time Saver

If you wish your morning routine were quicker, you're definitely not alone. In 2012, a survey found that 38 percent of women spend over a week's worth of time each year "getting ready" in the mornings. This includes showering, doing hair, and, perhaps most time-consuming of all, applying makeup. In recent years, eyebrow makeup has become more popular than ever, with products like pencils, powders, pomades, and gels dominating the beauty industry. The days of skinny, over-tweezed 90s brows are long gone—full, natural-looking brows are in.

Say goodbye to drawing on the perfect brows every morning only to live in fear of smudging or rain. Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup treatment that gives the appearance of fuller, more defined brows. This meticulous process uses a delicate microblading pen to draw individual hair-like strokes on top of your existing brow hairs or on your predetermined brow line.

With a variety of color options, your esthetician can help you choose the perfect pigment for a natural look. Similar to tattooing, the pigment lies under the superficial dermal layer of skin but does not provide permanent results. The longevity of your microblading results depends on how well your skin retains the pigment; however, results typically last between 12 to 18 months.

After the initial treatment, a follow-up touch-up treatment is usually required within the first month, as the pigment tends to fade significantly during this time. To maintain your brows, it is recommended to schedule touch-ups annually.

To ensure a comfortable and informed experience, your esthetician will guide you through the entire microblading procedure, including before and after care. It's suggested that you avoid any brow treatments, such as tweezing, threading, or waxing, for at least a week before your appointment. Eyebrow tinting can be done up to four days before your microblading session. Additionally, avoid professional aesthetic treatments like chemical treatments, peels, facials, or lasers for at least two weeks before both the initial and touch-up treatments.

Before the procedure, the skin surrounding your brows will be cleaned, and a topical anesthetic will be applied to numb the area and ensure muscle relaxation. After the treatment, it's essential to keep your brows dry for the first seven to ten days. Avoid swimming, sweating, or submersion in water. You can still wash your hair and face, but do so with caution. Try to limit direct sun exposure as well.

Microblading is a fantastic option for those looking to save time and achieve perfect brows effortlessly. With proper care and maintenance, you can enjoy beautifully defined brows without the daily hassle of makeup.
